About me? Well, first and foremost I love the Lord and I live to serve Him. In everything I do I try to bring glory to God. I am also a loving mother to our daughter Rhilyn, welcomed on October 6, 2012 and wife to her awesome Daddy, Josh. Together we love spending time with family & friends, and especially our new little one! We also love the outdoors. Fishing, hunting, hiking, swimming, horseback riding, etc. He is a paramedic for American Medical Response, and I am the lead veterinary technician for a local animal hospital. Some of my hobbies include: photography (obviously), horseback riding, playing the piano, scrapbooking (paper and digital), and knitting.

I don’t know what I would do in life if I didn’t have my camera. It follows me everywhere; it’s what I do. After getting started with black & white film photography in high school, I knew that it was something I’d never let fall by the way-side. Photography keeps me going… Being able to frame up what God has put on this earth truly touches my heart and I am passionate about capturing the beauty and emotions of life and creating those images that make you “feel.” If I could describe my photographic style in 5 words, it would be: fresh, clean, real, natural and relaxed. I love the challenge of utilizing the natural light given in a situation. My goal is to keep photos looking as natural as possible, showing the realness of life.

A quick story… When I was young I was huge into horses. I breathed them. My grandfather introduced me to them, and I quickly fell in love. My first dream was to be a jockey but I quickly grew too tall for that to happen. So I decided I wanted to become a rider for the olympic team! Well, I knew that was far-fetched so instead I was going to settle for a trainer and operator of a small stable. What does this story have to do with photography? Well, that same grandfather game me some great advice which at the time I didn’t make sense of. He told me to consider NOT making my hobby my job, because I will grow to resent it, and fall out of love. Now, years later after I have contemplated a full-time career in photography and dabbled in it a little I have reminded myself of this advice. I don’t want to destroy my love of photography by trying earn full-time wages with it. I have to remember that we all are put on earth to honor and please God, and to do works in His name. So, that is what I want to do. I want to do things that are pleasing to Him and according to His will and with that mindset in combination with my grandfather’s advice, for now I will only doing photographic work part-time. My full-time job is being the best Mommy I can be to our daughter, and being a housewife.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” -Colossians 3:23.
